We’d love to hear from you

Our committee started upon request from the consistory of the Lethbridge Netherlands Reformed Congregation to research and provide advice regarding modern media and technology. The Lethbridge Modern Media Committee (LMMC), in close cooperation with the consistory and other NRC committees, will assess the various usages of modern media from a Biblical perspective, determine how they may affect our traditional Reformed lifestyle, and subsequently provide suitable advice and content articles that are useful to our congregation’s members and young people.

The LMMC mandate is as follows:

    1. Research (modern) media and technologies and assess them from a Biblical perspective.
    2. Generate awareness and provide direction to our community.
    3. Provide practical guidance for protecting our families.

We would like to hear from you.

As we all know, information and temptations are constantly changing. If you have a story to share,or an idea on how we could add more valuable content to this website or perhaps came across a challenging media situation in your family for which you found a solution, we’d like to hear from you.

We can hope to do no more than raise awareness for developments in the info-tech world and how these may affect the values and way of life our church promotes. Media technology continues to develop at a dizzying pace, making us ever more vulnerable as a society and detached as individuals, and presenting temptations and opportunities for sin and vice in unprecedented, unimaginable ways. It often appears the effects of these new developments on our families cannot be reversed or stopped. If we look only to ourselves, the future appears to be hopeless; could we then be given to say with Jehosphat, “…we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)
